Maximum Performance & Reliability. Founded in 1924 as a manufacturer, distributor and importer of firearms, today Stoeger is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benelli. Stoeger enjoys a reputation for affordable quality because of the technology and expertise that Benelli has integrated into the manufacturing process.

The Model 3000 is a 12- gauge semi- automatic shotgun capable of chambering 2-3/4" field loads all the way up to the most potent 3.5" magnum shells. At the heart of the design is Benelli's proven Inertia Driven system.

With only three moving parts in the bolt for lightening fast operation, the short recoil inertia system is simple and efficient. Unlike gas driven shotguns, a Stoeger Inertia Driven action is primarily contained within the receiver.

This provides better center of balance and a smooth swing. With no propellant gases venting into the action, the Model 3500 will stay cleaner longer. The action features a patented inertia bolt with a rotating locking head -- the same helical cam system that gives the Benelli Inertia Driven system a reputation for being the fastest cycling and most reliable shotguns in the world.

The rotating bolt's vault like locking lugs are a tight steel-to-steel lockup inside the barrel, and then engage even tighter when fired. This ensures strength and reliability. Because it's a non- stressed component, the receiver is made from aluminum alloy to save on weight. More importantly, there is no heavy gas cylinder under the forend. This ensures the gun remains agile and reliable.

The Stoeger 3500 is manufactured at Benelli's plant in Turkey. The country of Turkey, like England and Italy before it, has emerged as a hot bed of shotgun manufacturing.

While most Turkish shotguns are considered to be basic "econo-line" models, one brand -- Stoeger -- stands apart from the rest. The story of how the company got there is an interesting one.

After rumors began to swirl that a Turkish firm had done such a good job of copying the Benelli inertia system, rather than suing for patent infringement, Beretta (who owns Benelli) instead purchased the company and made refinements to the design. This new shotgun was given the designation M2000 after the new millennium.

Since that time, several improvements have been made and the result is the Model 3000 & 3500 shotguns. A few of the major upgrades include the receiver being drilled and tapped to accommodate a Weaver optics rail and the inclusion of a shim kit to allow the shooter to adjust the stock to his / her dimensions.

Both the 26" hammer forged barrel and extension have been beefed up for improved strength and reliability. Similarly, the bolt has been redesigned with two large locking lugs and a rotating camming system.

The molded checkered synthetic stock and forend combine to maintain a firm grasp on the shotgun. A soft rubber pad helps tame recoil, while the redesigned and enlarged trigger guard allows easier operation for shooters wearing gloves.

Both the bolt release and safety catch are smooth and easy to engage. Three standard Beretta style Mobilchokes are included: IC, Mod & X-tra Full Turkey.

Just like it's Italian counterparts at Benelli and Franchi, the Stoeger M3500 is equipped with a chrome lined barrel for greater strength, corrosion resistance and accuracy (pattern concentricity). A Realtree MAX-5 finish minimizes detection from waterfowl and other game animals.

The slightly raised vent rib barrel features a front fiber optic sight that gets on target well. The Stoeger M3500 features a streamlined forend cap for easier takedown and cleaning. For service and repair, Stoeger is backed by a 5- year warranty. Overall, the Stoeger Model 3500 is an affordable, dependable, fast running and hard hitting shotgun.
